Dextran sulfate sodium salt (MW 36000-50000) As a compound formed by the polymerization of dehydrated glucose, DSS with a molecular weight of 36000-50000 has become an effective tool for inducing colitis due to its colonic epithelial toxicity. By adjusting the concentration and administration time of DSS according to the experimental objectives, acute, chronic, and alternating acute chronic models can be established, which is one of the most common and effective chemical inducers for inducing ulcerative colitis in model animals. DSS can also be used in combination with AOM (KM8289) to induce colon cancer models.

体内研究

Dextran sulfate sodium salt (MW 36000-50000) can be used to induce acute/chronic colitis and colitis related colon cancer models.

 

1、Inducing an acute colitis model

Using daily drinking methods for modeling, 3-5% DSS aqueous solution is added for 7 days and restored with 3 days of drinking water.
 
2、Chronic colitis
Modeling was conducted using daily drinking methods, with a 1-3% DSS aqueous solution for 5 days followed by a 5-day drinking water recovery period, for a total of three cycles.
 
Note: Ready to use: DSS solution is easily degradable and should be stored at 4 ° C for no more than 24 hours after preparation. Fresh solution should be replaced daily to avoid contamination.
