NNGH is a cell-permeable, broad-spectrum inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). It blocks the activity of MMP-8, -9, -12, -13, and -20 with K values of 9, 2.6, 4.3, 3.1, and 17 nM, respectively. It also inhibits MMP-1, -3, -7, and -10 with K values of 0.17, 0.13, 13, and 0.1 µM, respectively. It is commonly used to study the role of MMP-3 (stromelysin 1) in biological systems.
NNGH is a Stromelysin-1/matrix metalloproteinase-3 (MMP-3) inhibitor. NNGH inhibits β-catenin transcriptional activity by inhibiting MMP-3. NNGH inhibits NMDAR-mediated long-term potentiation in mouse CA1 hippocampal synapses. NNGH can be used for the research of breast cancer and neurological disease[1].

NNGH (10 μM) can completely eliminate the long-term potentiation (LTP) mediated by NMDAR in the CA1 hippocampal synapses of mice [1].
NNGH (50 μM) indirectly inhibits the transcriptional activity of β - catenin in C57MG mouse mammary epithelial cells treated with Wnt3a by inhibiting MMP-3, which can be verified by the decrease in Topflash reporter gene activity.
